My version of how a design for the Guild Navigator from the Dune universe could look. Originally a human whom after centuries of mutation and using their mind to find paths through space, has evolved into this creature. Their head has constantly been evolving and growing, turning the top portion of the skull from hard bone to a softer and more transparent material able to morph its shape. His face stays tucked inside his head while he rests, retracted in a similar way to how snails retract their eyeballs, until he is required to communicate with a regular human. When someone approaches to speak, his bones shift forward and muscles move into place(illustrated guide in third image) allowing for his more recognizable face to come out. They communicate through hand signals and evolved vocal chords capable to projecting sound throughout his chamber.
Personal piece trying to imagine one of the many hallways that could be part of a large sci-fi spaceship. Lights begin flashing red when passing by a solar system containing a large star with a strong gravitational pull, alerting passengers to get to a command room and strap into their seats. On to the next galaxy.
Nervous and optimistic about her father's new role as planet Earth's Prime Minister, Alessa makes her way through one of the building's many hallways admiring pieces of art as she passes. Luxurious displays of wealth fill almost every room. Along the way, a name written on a holo-plaque near one of the statues catches Alessa's eye. It was a famous piece by the great sculptor of the 2030s, Richard E. Thull, who she had read about in school. Never in her wildest dreams had she imagined herself standing in the presence of such a rare work of art.
"Goodness, how far we've come." She thought to herself, as she gazed through the rings of falling water.
Testing a concept of a mass-scale constructed space-station receiving trade ships into its ports while orbiting around the earth. Final image inspired by Paul Chadeisson's presentation of his space stations!
Cthulhu's Gate was a construction project started by a highly advanced alien race as a safety measure in an attempt to keep the slumbering galactic creature inside from waking once again. Thousands of years passed, and the precautionary purpose of this gate was slowly forgotten. More and more alien civilizations began migrating and colonizing this ancient space station, building into it and making it their own. Centuries will pass and the mega-city will continue to grow, meanwhile not one of its trillions of citizens will know the tremendous destructive power that lies within the walls of the gates.
I had run some tests in mandelbulber2 and decided to have a little fun with the renders I got in photoshop, so I came up with a couple images of a small space ship exploring these giant alien worlds. I had a really fun time coming up with these and learned quite a bit for such a small project.
This is a personal piece inspired by Ginaz, a planet in one of the Dune books series. In this planet is where Sword Master training takes place. It is here where Duncan Idaho, the Sword Master of the Atreides family, was trained. Ginaz is a planet that is mainly oceanic with multiple small sized tropical archipelagos which makes up its only surface land, on which all the major population centers are situated. This is how I imagined it could look.
I designed a modern metro station that could be used in South American countries to be more durable and modern to a degree. I also included a grey shaded version of my 3d model.
